Reading a book can be quite a large time commitment. And digging in and finding out a book sucks can end up being quite a waste of time. Do you keep going because you’ve come so far, or do you cut your losses and bail out while you still can?

Google is hoping to help you avoid this terrible fate with Google Play Discover. The bookstore offered on Google Play is already quite solid, but with this new feature, it could become even more useful.

Here’s a quick highlight of what it does (make sure you have the Google Play Books app):

  • News about books being made into movies, recommendations from NPR, reviews from trusted sources, and more from around the web.
  • Stories comes based on what you’ve read previously on Play Books.
  • Weekly highlights of stories you’ll like.
  • Editor showcase introduces you to new books.

If you’re already using Google Play to read your books, you’ll definitely like this feature. If you aren’t, maybe it’s time to make the switch.
