PORT OF SPAIN: Pakistan cricket team is all set to take to the top of the ICC Test team ranking table, after the fourth day of the current Test match between India and West Indies was also washed out due to rain, on Sunday.

In case of a draw between India and West Indies, which now seems imminent, India will lose the number one spot in the ICC Test team rankings. Pakistan, on the other hand, which is placed at number two in the world, will climb to the top spot.

Fresh from a victory in the final Test match against England, Pakistan leveled the Test match series 2-2 after losing two consecutive matches. After the victory, captain Misbah-ul-Haq had said that Pakistan deserved to be number one, owing to the absence of cricket back home in the country.

Rain was the dominant factor in the Port of Spain Test match between India and Pakistan, as play was washed out after just 22 overs on Day 1 of the Test match between India and the West Indies.

Play was washed out for two more days consecutively, due to which the Test match is headed for a draw between both teams. In case of a draw between India and the West Indies, Pakistan will move to the number one spot in the ICC Test team rankings.
