“Oh wow, a phone call! It’s coming to my mobile, so it must be something good!”

“Hello, Mr. or Ms. TheGN reader, we’d like to tell you about the latest blah, blah, blah,” says the voice on the other side.

And you’re left wondering how to stop these annoying calls. The solution, though not a perfect one, is to get on the “Do Not Call” list for your country. It won’t stop the calls completely, as some companies just don’t seem to care, but it’ll help.
