Cabinet to discuss Indian aggression

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the Federal Cabinet today that apart from the regular agenda items would discuss the situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir, a statement from the PM House said.

The meeting was convened to deliberate upon the deteriorating situation along the Line of Control (LoC) after Indian forces opened unprovoked fire in the Azad Jammu Kashmir during which two soldiers embraced martyrdom.

The first agenda item of the cabinet meeting will be discussion on the situation in Kashmir, prime minister’s United Nations visit and his bilateral meetings with the world leaders in New York.

The Foreign Secretary will brief the Cabinet before the discussion on occupied Kashmir, official sources said.

According to the PM House media cell, PM Nawaz was being briefed regularly on the situation on the Line of Control (LoC) by the security institutions.

National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua also submitted a comprehensive report on the LoC situation to the PM office. The prime minister expressed his satisfaction on the level of preparedness of Pakistani Armed Forces to match any provocation by Indian security forces.
